Drive-In Movie for Leaf Litter* is an animation/audio installation that pulls us into the fecund and mysterious world of the forest floor. Combining rear projected silhouette animation radiating through a revolving sculpture, this work is infused with an immersive soundscape and staged as a miniature theater. Drive-In Movie for Leaf Litter situates the audience at ground level, intimate with the precarity of this ecological and political moment. The shadows of cycling leaf litter cast a hypnotic spell, punctuated with disruptions and disappearances. Winds of change pass through gently then ferociously, yet cycles persist.
* Leaf litter is all that has fallen on the forest floor; it is an essential habitat, a place to eat, breed and hide, and it nourishes and insulates tree roots.
